Lustworthy Scarf

Been awhile since I’ve allowed myself to peek around online for lovelies like this.  Just oh-so-tempting!  Would go with everything I own 😉

MET Gala – Top Picks

The Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Gala this year was dedicated to the late great Alexander McQueen.  Here are StylinMommy’s top picks (All photos courtesy of style.com)

Daphne Guinness in Alexander McQueen

I’ve always been a big fan of D.G for taking risks with her fashion and obvs. for her two-toned hairstyle (which, btw, I’ve decided to go ahead with once I get some babysitting lined up!)

Karen Elson in McQueen

Karen Elson is probably one of the only women in the world who could still pull off that bright fire engine red hair.

Natasha Poly in Alexander Wang

Just loving the simplicity and drape of this one. Great colour too, tho you’d think it would wash her out somehow it doesn’t.

Alexa Chung in Christopher Kane

As per usual, Alexa channels quirky and sexy all at once. This one’s a bit cheeky since she went pretty lowkey and short for such a gala.

Christina Ricci in Zac Posen

Normally not particularly a fan of Ricci but she brings the drama with a fetishistic black Posen gown.

Giselle wearing Alexander McQueen

You can always count on Giselle for some good ole fashion glam.  Having Tom Brady on your arm can’t hurt either 😉

Ashley Olsen in vintage Dior Couture

While I wasn’t super impressed by MK’s outfit, her twin radiated cool vintage class with this one.

Coco Rocha in Alexander McQueen

Our Canadian supermodel rocked a black grecian look complete with (swan?) feathers on the hips.

Jessica Stam wearing Tommy Hilfiger

Another Canadian, Jessica Stam, is pretty in a blush-toned strapless number.

Loved checking out all the outfits. Happy Tuesday!

Just Another Royal Wedding Post

Along with a bajillion others across the world today I was pretty excited to see what Katie would be wearing.

I guess we are on the same wavelength because she chose a fantastic Alexander McQueen dress by Sarah Burton.

She looked terrific – tasteful with just enough interesting detail to keep it original and unique. Love the simple bouquet.

For all the Royal Wedding haters out there – a little fairy tale and fantasy never hurt anyone 😉 As a Brit expat I have a little more of the royal fever in me than the norm and this wedding was thoroughly satisfying – Congrats to Will & Babykins!
